DUBAI: Iran has presented a new peace proposal to the United States aimed at reducing tensions across the region. According to Iranian state media, the proposal includes ending conflicts in areas such as Lebanon, the withdrawal of US forces from regions near Iran, and compensation for damages caused during the recent US-Israel conflict.

Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that Tehran is also demanding the removal of economic sanctions, access to frozen Iranian funds, and an end to the US naval restrictions around the country.

The proposal appears largely similar to Iran’s earlier offer, which US President Donald Trump previously dismissed. However, Trump recently suggested there is now a strong possibility of reaching a new agreement focused on limiting Iran’s nuclear activities.

Reports indicate Washington had considered restarting military action against Iran, though it remains unclear whether any final preparations were made. Trump has paused plans for renewed strikes after receiving Tehran’s latest proposal.

Global attention remains focused on the Strait of Hormuz, a major route for international oil shipments. Any agreement between Tehran and Washington could help ease regional tensions and stabilize global energy
